Potbelly 2037 Time Capsule, Drawings for Prizes and Charitable Donation all part of the celebration

On August 22, 2007, Potbelly Sandwich Works will be celebrating its 30th Anniversary with Random Acts of Potbelly in each and every Potbelly store. Highlights of the celebration include the sealing of the Potbelly 2037 Time Capsule, a drawing for two Fender electric guitars and a charitable donation to CureSearch National Childhood Cancer Foundation.

Details for the market-by-market Random Acts are as follows:

2037 Potbelly Stove Time Capsule
In all Chicagoland, Illinois, Indiana and Wisconsin stores Potbelly will ask customers to help Potbelly make history for the next 30 years by filling out a postcard with a Message from 2007. The messages will be collected from July 30 through August 13 at all Potbelly stores in these states. Then, on August 22 at 11:30 a.m., the messages will be sealed along with company messages and other information from 2007 in the Potbelly Time Capsule, located in a Potbelly stove at the Potbelly store at the corner of State and Lake in downtown Chicago.

Guitar Giveaway
From July 30 through August 22, folks in all Texas, Washington DC, Virginia, Maryland, and Pennsylvania stores can enter a drawing at stores in those states to win one of two Fender electric guitars. The guitars will “tour” several stores during the three-week entry period.

Charitable Donation
Potbelly will donate 30% of lunch sales from all stores in Minnesota, Michigan and Ohio to local hospitals of CureSearch National Childhood Cancer Foundation. CureSearch unites the National Childhood Cancer Foundation and the world’s largest and most prestigious childhood cancer research organization, the Children’s Oncology Group. Together they focus on reaching the day when every child with cancer can be guaranteed a cure.

Other Random Acts of Potbelly
On August 22, every Potbelly store will celebrate the company’s 30th Anniversary with Random Acts of Potbelly benefiting all customers including special 30th Anniversary pen giveaways, mini-cookie bag giveaways, and Sheila’s Dream Bar “Anniversary Cakes.”

“I am really excited about what we have planned,” said Bryant Keil, Chairman and CEO. “Our events are a fun celebration of what the Potbelly brand has stood for over the 30 years… our customers, our people and the spirit of kindness and charity.”
