Potbelly Music Events
Some recent highlights at Potbelly Sandwich Shops:
The State Street shop in Ann Arbor, Michigan, hosts an open mike for local talent in the upstairs dining room. It draws musicians from all genres and gives these up-and-coming performers a great venue in a neighborhood hangout. Some of the musicians go on to participate in the shop’s Musician Showcase Program or even become paid Potbelly Musicians.
High School Band Fundraisers
Our shop in Deerfield, Illinois, donated 25% of their sales during a special three-hour event to Deerfield High School’s band program. The event included performances by members of the DHS jazz band, orchestra, and barber shop vocalists. Parents, family and friends came out to show their support and helped raise hundreds of dollars to further these music programs.
Celebrating Street Musicians
Six locations in downtown Chicago hosted a rotating series of the city’s best street musicians. In a city where street music is an essential part of the urban experience, the shops partnered with the local non-profit, Chicago Street Musicians. The shops sold a special “Streets of Chicago Shake” and 50 cents from every shake was donated to the Chicago Street Musicians organization.
Potbelly Musician, Mike Stefaniak, completed a marathon five-day tour, playing at five Potbelly shops in five cities. He started at his home shop in Ann Arbor, Michigan, then traveled to Chicago, Cleveland, Washington D.C. and New York. Mike handed out free copies of his album and documented the whole process in photos and a video he created, set to his original song, Reach Out.
